The Project

Rui Li 1 is a floating offshore wind development project at Hsinchu County. The project has an anticipated capacity of 12 wind turbines (180MW) and will produce enough green electricity for 205,305 Taiwanese households.

As offshore wind rapidly develops, the shallow water areas in Taiwan for bottom fixed wind turbines are nearing saturation. Floating wind in deepwater areas is the next stage.

Rui Li 1 targets to participate in the upcoming Floating Demonstration Program in Taiwan and become one of the first floating offshore wind projects in Taiwan. Our goal is to showcase the feasibility of floating wind technology in Taiwan and stimulate floating wind as a new pioneering industry for the country.

The project is in development by a partnership between IX Renewables, GF Corp, and Hexicon: a cooperation of experienced companies with technical knowledge, international experience and local presence.

  • Location Hsinchu County
  • Distance to shore 21 kilometers
  • Water depth 70 - 95 meters
  • Anticipated capacity 12 turbines / 180 MW
  • Anticipated COD 2029
  • Energy production 833 GWh / year for 205,305 households
